Need help!

I have an 87 BII 4x4 with auto and V6. The problem is it feels like the front axle is engaged but the wheels are unlocked and it is in 2wd. The engine feels like once it hits about 40MPH it really has to work hard to keep the speed it's at. any suggestions?

Could be a clogged fuel filter or cat convertor. Always start with the simple stuff first. Theres nothing simpler than taking 2 minutes to pull the trouble codes.
