I had to replace my trans selector socket on my '76 F250.When I put everything back together I turned the key and nothing happened. So I figured
I needed to adjust the nuetral safety switch.I started messing with that and noticed that the pin that sticks up out of the steering column shaft is no longer there.I am talking about the pin that pushes on the nuetral switch.
Is this pin just pressed in or did I somehow break it off? Anyone have any ideas about this? Is it repairable short of getting a new shaft?
Thank's in advance.
the pin is welded to the shift tube, some times they fall off if disturbed. if you are the only one driving the truck, you can bypass the switch and drive forever. just rember to make sure it is in park before you start it up!
