Post PSD Fuel leaking under engine...

I have a '97 Powerstroke Diesel with 58,000 miles. I had noticed a puddle of liquid in a parking place I had used during the last few days. I checked under the truck then while the engine was off and saw nothing. Today I noticed fuel steadily dripping from under the engine while it was idling after starting - probably about 1/2 a cup a minute. It is dripping from the lower rear of the engine.

Is this a common problem on these engines and if anyone has experienced similar, what was the cause.

Any info much appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

Check all the fuel line connections on top of the engine. Also check the fuel filter gasket.

This engine has what we call a dry valley (at least it is supposed to be dry). There is a hole in the right bank rear of the valley that allows any fluid that collects in the valley to escape. It runs down the rear of the engine and out another hole in the clutch or torque converter cover. One of your fuel lines is probably leaking to the filter or fuel pump.
