Which oil

Which oil would you recommend for a car that is only driven on the weekends? Some have told me to stay away from synthetics since it wont be driven all of the time and that synthetic would be a waste for a non daily driver. I was looking into either motorcraft synthetic or mobil 1.

Anything API SJ/SL rated will be fine.

10w-30 in Dixie
5w-30 in the Great White North

Change once per year.

Syn. will not be that expensive if you only change once per year, but you won't get any real value from it. Go for it if it makes you feel better.

I got a Beetle that I bought last Thanksgiving. I use it as a weekend car. I've got 800 miles on it now.

go to www.le-inc.com and look at their 8000 series motor oils. If you don't drive regularly, the detergent additive package should be the determining factor. I agree, stay away from synthetics.
