I will see whoever shows at the 2005 Mustang at 1:00pm. I will be the big fat guy with the "I see small people" shirt on ... Possibly standing next to my pregnant wife
Cool.....i'll be the guy in the white and red OU hat....LOL Please forgive me, I might be drulling (sp?) over the 05 to notice anyone right away!!! BTW what time does this all start, id like to get there EARLY!! Another thing just to refresh the memory, this is the strip on the way out to Owasso right??
LOL....never really thought of it like that but at least its not OSU....no offense To add on that i'll most likely have on tan shorts, red/brown plain t-shirt and sandels, figure id go comfortable! If that helps at all. Anyway im sure i'll find the 05 at 1:00, don't think many ppl will be wearing "I see small people" shirt so im sure you wont be easy to miss....LOL its all good
Oh man, well, we'll send you some pictures NoMo. Sorry to hear that.
Everyone else still planning on coming? Cigar?? I think that Mark is working the weekend shift still, although I haven't heard from him in quite awhile.
So far, I believe for sure that RagingRedneck and I will deffinatly be there. Cigar, can you confirm that you will be there??
Hope to see everybody.
How about we meet at the new 2005 Mustang that is supposed to be out there at say... 1:00 PM? Since it seems that meeting for breakfast is out of the question. Let me know guy's.
Stan
Don't know. I'm on the fence on this one. I'm feverishly trying to finish restoring a classic '57 boat before two weeks is up. But I sure do need a nice mental break at the race track. If it doesn't rain I'll more than likely be there. I'll double check with my boss and see if she'll let me come out and play.
Well, I guess it will for sure be the three of us. Let's plan on meeting at the '05 Mustang (there should only be one, maybe two) at 1:00. The meet starts at 10:00 am, and that is probably when I will arrive. I will not be racing the Lightning, however, I will be driving it. I am a little guy, approx. 130#, and 5'10''. I will be in a white t-shirt, and will have my blue sunglasses on, and I'll also be taking pictures of everything, so I'm sure you wont miss me.
Directions.... from HW169, exit on 36th. St. North and proceed to the East side of HW169 where you will come to an access road that runs N/S along the highway, turn south and drive approx. 1/2 mile and the strip will be on the east side. They should have people directing traffic. Cost is $15 (I think) to watch, and $40 to race.
I look forward to meeting everybody. Cigar, I hope to see you there also.
BTW: I just MAY be in MY OSU hat! So you best watch what you say!!!
Cigar, is there any help the we could offer on your project? I haven't done much boat work, however, I am good for turning a wrench or two, and you're only 10 min. away from me.
Alright, fellas. The boss says I can go. I'll see ya'll at 1pm. I'll be a tall, dark guy wearing blue jean shorts and my FTE shirt. I'll have my red 78 f150 in the parkin lot. She's not worthy of racing but she looks nice. Heck ya, if any one wants to come help me work on my boat your more than welcome. I can pay for the labor and advice with beer and food. If my batteries are charged I'll bring my digi camera with me today. See ya'll in a little while.
Sorry I couldn't make it, got called into work early Saturday morning.
But I did get a chance to check out the car show on 71st....talk about Sweet!!! It was really awesome when all the Cobra's and so on fired up....didn't sound like stock cam's to me but there were a few.
Anyway next time something like this comes up i'll have to plan ahead.......and cigar if you need help im in, next couple of weekends are free and im pretty good with tools
Well, I made it to the track, but could not find you guys. Sorry. I couldn't find the '05 Mustang. I think it must have been at the hotel? I got there about 12:40 and stayed til 3pm. Man it got hot out there. I think I got a little sun burned. Hey, I did get to meet one of our fellow members! I think her userid is 78FordTruckGirl, aka Alice and her husband; Steve. Hope I got the names right. Very friendly people. She had her awesome 78 f150 shortbed on the track for the powderpuff races. I'll try posting some pics of the races and cars later. I couldn't make it to the car show on Sunday. Did anybody else make it out there?

Ya everybody, I appologize, I thought for sure that the new Mustang would certainly be there. Sorry. Well, I started my morning out there at a bright and early 9:30 and I came home a little after 5 (stayed for the very last race). I too saw that '78 shortbed... nice vehicle (to make sure we are talking of the same one... burgandy color right??). Anyways, YES, it was VERY hot. I personally am burnt to a crisp. I looked all around to see if I could see "FTE" on anybody's shirt, but I couldn't find anybody. I stayed around the SVT trailor from about 12:45-1:30 or so.
Hey, did you guy's see the Gen. 1 Lightning hit the wall?? Crazy thing is he hit the wall, straitened it out and still ran a 10.55. His first practice run early in the morning he forgot to turn the fuel pump on and it quit on him mid track and he fired it back up and still ran a 10.90! How about that Boss 428 that was with him?? Kindof a Plum color? That thing is a runnin' machine! Both of those vehicles are non-super/turbocharged, and neither one is running nitrous! It's all pure power (think we can all get together and make the 'ol Ranger turn 10's w/o nitro??)!
BTW: Cigar, thursday's are the only evenings that I have off, and I would be more than happy to turn a wrench or two for you. Heck, you just live right down the street from me (I live in Verdigris).
Same truck, Stan. They did a lot of work to it! You should check out under the hood. Clean enough to eat off of. Puts my truck to shame. I missed that Gen1 lightening wall mishap. I don't suppose it was the same white lightning that got squirely there a couple years ago? As for the boat help offer-email sent.
I saw a burgandy shortwide at the show on Sunday......now I don't really care for that year but man was that clean! Great looking truck. They had the SVT trailer out there along with a Goodyear one.....also noticed that almost every Shellby I looked at had Carrol Shellby signature on the dash.....i think the two that stuck in my head the most was the Blue w/white racing strip's 65 Gasser Mustang and the Red w/white racing strip's GT.500 Super Snake. I was mostly checking out the Boss's and Mach's.....I only got to stay two hours wish I could have stayed longer. Also after checking out the Lightning's I want one bad...all in all it was a great weekend besides work.....need to do this more often.
Hey Cigar. Husband's name is Dave. He might get a little jealous if you called him Steve.(Okay, who's this Steve guy? ) I placed 2nd in the utilty division. The winner was an awesome early Bronco. Don't mind taking second as long as it's not to a piece of chebby! I'm going to Branson the week-end after the 4th of July to an F1/F100 show. I'll take pictures. I'm sure there will be some awesome trucks!!!!!!!! And I will definitely be wearing my favorite shirt!
