Transmission trouble ?
I recently purchased a 98 f150 ext xlt v8 autp with 114k on it. I was driving a 92 v6 f150 prior to this. That had 220k on it without ever having a problem. To me there seems to be a problem with the transmission, it doesnt shift properly between 2 and 3rd gears, the rpm will get up to and stay at around 2500 before it shifts and it down shift harshly. If I give it more gas it will get to the next gear but it seems to be working way to hard to do this.
Is this the way these things run normally ? I know I may not be explaining this too well but thats the best I can come up with. It still has a 50/50 warrenty on the motor and drive train and I would like to get this squared away before it runs out.
Anyone have any idea whats going on or recomendations on who to see about it without gettting suckered ?
