Please Help with HeadUnit :(
I just needed to ask exactly what wire harness the 04 ford f150 requires/works with? Along with any >>*special instructions*<< that might need down for hooking it up to a head unit.
I went to circuit city to try to have them installed and they said "ohh we don't have a wire harness for this truck..Umm but we can make it work buy added something or whatever" so they worked on it...and and sure enough as im driving and make a stop the cd player shuts off ...ect..i don't know what they did. but im really want to attempt to hook this thing up myself.
can i also get the ford f 150 wire diagrams/colors for the hookups since the 03 is not the same as an 04... thanks

Circuit City may have been out of the kit and not wanted to lose the sale. I'd go back and talk to the manager.
I got a receiver/player from Crutchfields with a wiring unit and simple instructions. Very easy install, no problems.

I would love to just order the wire harness that i need...since i already have the cd player...
anyone know an exact wire harness to use with an 04 ....? everywhere i check says up to 03 and everyone i talk to in stores says they are not sure if an 03 will work with an 04 etc...
please help me anyone if you can....thank you

Thanks for trying 3nine(I'll take over for try #3), sure enough I have a dash kit and wiring harness for sale. As 3nine also said, I would prefer not to split them up, but might consider it if no one else wants them together. However, I would also recommend going back to Circuit City and telling them their install was faulty. They should fix it.

so whats the exact wiring harness that I need that works with an f 150? The adapter they were showing me at circuit city didn't even fit so they spliced wires and tried to rigg it up someway. They told me they don't MAKE/ carry a wiring harness for ford 2004 f 150. To be honest i have no idea wtf they were talking about... all i know is that I want to buy the correct stuff to hook up a cd player in this truck without them telling me they don't make it.

You can call their help line and find out anything you want to know about car stereo.
Worked on my '04 SCrew. But I'd take it back to C'City. Ask for the manager at the checkout desk, and speak loudly about the install being rigged and incomplete and faulty. They'll make it right.
