Hi, Just wondering if anyone has ever fitted 15''X10'' rims with 33'' tyres to a F100 4X2 custom that is at standard height. And if so how were they for fit travel and steering. Oh and look.
Hmmm... I think it is rather specific to his year truck, as he's asking about how the tires will fit within the wheelwells, which will be different for different years and models of trucks.
At any rate, I fit 33x12.50's on 16.5x10 wheels on my stock suspension '92 F350 4x4, but I had to shim the bumper forward about 2" to keep the tires from rubbing the bumper when turning and hitting a bump. I would think that your 1/2ton 2wd truck is alot lower than my one ton 4x4, so I would say they probably wont fit on your truck without some amount of lift. I would say 31x10.50's should fit on your truck. I have that size on my '69 Bronco with no lift and cut rear fender openings. They rub on the radius arms at full turn a little but it's no big deal. They are on 15x8's.
Too bad you're not allowed to ask this in your year forum, where people are more familiar with that body truck. Try posting it in the Offroad forum, alot of those guys run older trucks there.
Thanks for info. it would be good to be able to post on my truck year because i have about a 350km (200 mile) round trip to pick a set of wheels for my truck and have been serching this site for two days and not found the info that i'm looking for.
But I will say that I have found a lot of other info that will come in very handy
with the rebirth of my truck.
Ray, glad you found some info, hopefully you find a difinitive answer to your question. I would still try the Offroad forum though.
You must live in some remote location, in my local Parts & Equipment Trader, there must be 200 ads for used wheels and tires every week, most within 30 miles driving distance...
I live in north Victoria in Australia It's not to remote, and if I wanted wheels for a jap ute I'd have no problem but to get wheels for my f-truck I have to order them in and if they don't fit or don't look good I'm stuck with them, So the best thing to do is Go to Melbourn (200km) so I can have a good look at them. and then there is only a few styles to pick from.
I've herd That f100'S have the same stud pattern as jeeps If this I so It might make my search a bit easyer.
