I was curious as to what the speed governor set on a 94.5-97 Powerstroke, and my dad is curious what the governor is set on a 99-02 Powerstroke? i think my dads 99 diesel speedo goes up to 100mph? and my 97 speedo is 85mph just curious

I [font color=red]think[/font] that the newer ones shut down at 92 or 94 mph. Don't know first hand. That's just what people have told me. Insurance is high enough on these trucks without any tickets. Not to mention abslolute road carnage if you were to lose control. Worse yet, I can't stand the thought of damaging my baby. Or God forbid killing myself or other motorists.(Maybe one needs to be in control in order to lose it) I don't know about the older ones. However I think the chips that are available will overide that factory speed setting.
Haakeye here I have a 89 F250 4X4 SC 410 gears and I did turbo it 7.3 not power stroke and I get a confortable 160km + about 100-105 mph governered at 3300/3400 rpm max and they hate me when I pull the load.
