I have recently built a 390 fe engine, my machine shop bored the block.060. I bought a 428 crank had it turned .010, 428 rods. .060 pistons and a mild cam, stock rebuilt dist. Could some one please explain to me the best way to set overall timing and initial tuning.
also, I am putting this in a 76 highboy that had a serious electrical fire in the ign system. I have factory wiring scamatic but would like to get advice on the best electrical Ignition, coil and spark set up if any one cares to help????
I had a MSD in my Chebby and didn't notice any difference over the HEI it had. I have heard great things about the DUI. The DUI is also a single wire hook up. I'm all about one wire hook ups. Alt. and soon the DUI if it fits with a blower. Just my $.02
Well All I can say..is what I have read about the DUI (Davis Unified Ignition)
Has been all Good....And that will be the one that I go with for my build (in process)
It doesnt have multi spark like some units...But it throws out 50,000 volts to the plugs... And Like said above The 1 wire hook up...keeps the engine compartment
Looking clean....About $375... Good luck -Russ
