I have a 2001 4x2 Limited V10 and was wondering if I could put 285/75R16's on it. I do occasionally tow 8000lbs. If I were to get E load range in that size, would it be a problem when towing? Do they fit ok on the stock rims? Thanks. Any recommendations on tire brands?
I have looked all over for E-rated 285's, they don't exist. I saw a parked 4X4 with 305's, (BFG AT's) a few days ago. It was stock ride height with stock rims, 7-inch (I think), and a quick look didn't reveal any rubbing. The D rated 305's have a much greater load capacity than the 285's and look good too! Has anybody tried them? Any thoughts/opinions?
I had BFG A/T 295's on my stock 4x4 and the left tire would rub going into a hard right turn on the leaf spring. I don't think 305's will fit a stock 4x2. Not without some serious backspacing.
