I change my oil and filter every 3000 miles. I spent $38000.00 for my truck, so I not going to cry about spending $50.00 to change the lifes blood of my vehicle.
Warning ! ! ! If you are going to change the oil yourself, be sure to keep the reciept for the oil and filter, cut the bar codes off both, and keep them with your record of the date and mileage of when you changed it.
The reason for this is that a good friend of mine changed his oil at 5000 miles fathfully. He blew his engine with only 27000 miles on it and the dealer and customer service refuse to warranty it because he didn't have a record of the changes. I told him he shouldn't have bought a D*d*e. I think it still sucks though.
