i have a 1929 Model A thats getting no spark, ive ran a volt meter all down the ignition system and i get 6volts at every point, but it still gets no spark at all. could this just be a problem with the coil or is it something else? Thanks.
Are the points opening? Hold the secondary wire that goes to the cap about 1/4 of an
inch from the block and snap the points from closed to open, see spark? If not do you have 6 volts at the movable point when they are open? Finally, is the condenser ok,
this can be tested with an ohmmeter, you should not have continuity between the can and the center post.
The point condenser thing is the most common. Also look for a ground wire from the point plate to the body of the distributor. If the plate dont ground the coil wont fire.
