annoying chime

I would like the chime to only work when the head lights are on with the key off. I unpluged the seat belt but many times I like to have the door open without having to remove the key. Can anyone tell me how to achieve this?

Seriously the easiest way is to take a pen or something of that size and push the door latch to the closed position. Just remember to pull your door handle and take your pen again to assist the latch back to the open position before you go to shut it.

Unscrew the tilt **** and remove the lower cover on the steering column to access the lower side of the key switch cylinder. With the key in the switch and turned to the on position, push in the small detent ball on the lower side of the key cylinder and pull the key cylinder out ... The cylinder should move a little bit and then you will have to release (stop pushing) on the ball detent to completely remove the key cylinder. After the cylinder is removed, place a small piece of electrical tape over the brass contacts along the cylinder. Push the cylinder back in place, reinstall the lower cover and tilt arm and you should be good to go.

Anybody know where the "speaker" for the chime is located? I would like to give mine a "chimectomy". I have already done everything that the book says you can do.
