I own an 89 bronco II, 4x4, 2.9 v6.
I have not done anything to the vehicle and all of a sudden the idle will increase up to around 2800 when im not touching the pedal. I checked to make sure it wasnt the pedal sticking, it was not. Are there any sort of sensors or anything that could of gone out to do this? Could the EGR vavle on the intake be the culprit?
thx in advance.
I would suspect the IAC, I would try cleaning it. Have you tried pulling the codes, see pulling eec-iv codes in the tech info thread at the top of the forum.
