I have an abandoned 78 or 79 2WD F150 Ranger on a rental property. Truck is a long way from home, so I haven't even seen it. I need a steering box for my 78 F250 4WD. Are they the same?
I just recently purchased a rebuilt box and in my haste didnt check to see if it had the same specs as my F250. Basically thinking that all the late model 70 4x4s where the same. It arrived and to my dismay, found out that it is for a 1/2 ton. My 3/4 ton has 4 bolts and mounts on the inside whereas the new box has 3 bolts and mounts from the outside.
Anyway, Yes I feel like an idiot, but learned to thoroughly spec out the part before I purchase it.
