Anyone know of any reputable dealer, manufacturer, or someplace that still carries convertible soft tops for Broncos. I got my 1990 XLT Bronco last year just as fall was hitting and now that spring is here I wanna go topless on the big girl. I'm currently a college student (almost done) so I don't have a place to constantly take on and off the hard top. I'd like to buy a soft top that I can keep on all summer and put the hard top back on for winter. Thanks for any help!
That is pretty standard pricing. I dont think you will find them much cheaper anywhere. You might want to give a look over at EBAY. They might have some for sale.
i didnt check those sites, but i had my fast back top made for 380 at a custom fabric shop here. they made tops for boats etc. check out the shops near you.
I find it interesting that there isn't a bigger market for them out there. I may even decide to try and custom build one, but I really want it to look nice. If I find any cheaper I'll let you know.
I'm planning on building a custom one. I've got some ideas that I think will make a really great top for these trucks. It might take 6 months or a year, but I've had thoughts of patenting it and selling a few.... I'll post again once I have a prototype. Wish me luck!
Thanks, the fastback models are kind of neat looking....but take away from the functionality of having all that space in the back. I have looked at these before as a possibility and decided against it. Why take away from what the vehicle was inteded to be...BIG =-)
i have a fasatback top and keep it on from mid spring to mid fall. usually where i am, i dont see rain tooo often on long island, but it rains here. and thats the only time you dont have teh space. i've never missed it, because usualy during the day, the top is alwayse off and then you have nmore space for say surf boards and fishing poles. Only time space is resrictes is rain, so its really not bad at all. just sucks for poeple sitting back there when its on. But we're driving, so its all good
Hey bigwhtbco,
Where did you get yours. All the ones I have seen have the snaps all the way around. Just wondering if they are difficult, and what seals arounrd the tailgate. Oh Yeah, can you open the tailgate with it on?
let us know.
thanks
I have the Skyler fastback softtop on my 84 Bronco (see gallery). When the company was still in business, a new top was $600. I bought mine used from another intenet truck site, but you will see these on ebay now and then. Paid $350 for mine, used a few months. I also have a new STC softtop for sale, $500 plus shipping.
