I have installed that brand of headers many many times the drivers side is
the easy side the linkage will not be a problem ! The pass-side is very tight
you will need to losen the nut on pass-side motor mount and jack up the engine and once you get it high enuff it will fall in . Jegs sells a header hookup
that works very good.

P.S some 73-79 trucks have a brake line bracket that needs a little bit
sawed off the end .( drivers side not all have that bracket in the way) this is
mounted to the steering box.

Mine went in exactally as Pro-steet has said. I am having a problem with the collectors in the way of the shift linkage though. I normally leave the "flatter" side of the collector towards the ground. This caused the top side to have the "high" side that the linkage hits when pulling shifter into the first/reverse gate.
