Ive spent the last three days on my new diesel trying to install fuel tanks and make it run properly. So far the only thing that i haven't replaced is the fuel filter water sep. The problem is the engine runs fine until it warms right up then the fuel lines get air in them and it stalls the engine. New fuel lines front to back, electric fuel pump on the frame, changed the lift pump on the pass. side of the block and as well checked all the fittings for tightness. The truck hasn't run in years but fired up no problem as soon as I bled all the lines, as well doesn't leak any oil or run erratically until it gets to approx 190 deg. Please help, I'm going for the filter tommorrow but will probably give up soon.
You might be getting air in the fuel lines from weak injector springs. After they warm up they weaken and let compression air into the injector. If the truck is one with the water separator on the firewall, try bypassing that first and see what the outcome is. If that doesnt cure the problem, I'd shoot for having injectors tested.

Is there any way that I can check the injectors myself? I have access to another truck so that I dont have to buy all new stuff. My budget is running low and so is my time to work on it. I leave for two weeks of work in a couple of days and don't know how much I really need this truck. I picked it up off a friend and he won't take any money until it ruuns well. so keep it or dump it?
