I have a '85 F250 4x4 6.9L Diesel. I need to replace the driverside front inner ujoint. Is this a difficult job to do? Is there any spiecal tools I need to do this? Thanks

I have had to replaced about 3 or 4 u-joints on my front axel but have never done it myself always gotten the shop to do them... it is actualy fairly reasonable cost wise.. besides if something screws up then the shop has to go good for it not you....

driver side is a piece of cake just pull the hubs and disk and the spindle and the shaft slides right out you will need a four prong retaining nut socket to get of a couple of retaining nuts and an impact wrench doese wonders on saving time and back pain use the heynes manual and you will have it done in 3 hours remember your best friend is a can of supper penetrant and a rubber hammer when i did it it took 3 days (a long weekend) because i did both sides and drive shaft and had to drop the pumkin to get the pass side out remember to clean everything off in a can of diesel fuel or keosene and when you put everthing back together use plenty of syn grease :-staun
