Tranny??????????????
-C4
-late model overdrives from the 5.0 family.
-old style 303 and other three speeds.
-old style BW T-10 trannys, if you can find one that won't pop out of gear
-old style Ford top-loader trannys and their clones like Jerico
-Mustang 5 speeds, all types that were found behind 302-5.0
-M50d Mazda Trannys found in some F150s and hated by many.
-ZF Trannys from our German friends found in F 150s
And a host of othes that use the same trans to bell housing pattern as the old style 3 & 4 speeds.
Read through this section, lots of info on this and you will doubtless get more replies from folks who can tell you model numbers, gear ratios, their own stories etc.
That reminds me. I replaced my 303 3 speed with BW T10. Popped out of gear. My loud mouth friend made sure the guy I bought it from told me to bugger off.
Paid $300 (1978), sold it to a kid with a 68 6 cylinder for $98. I told him it wouldn't fit behind his six, I couldn't find parts or anyone to fix it and that I never wanted to see it again.
Bought a top loader. Popped out of 2nd. Reputable co replaced. Howled like a wolf. They replaced it again. Worked like a champ.
Good luck, be carefull because all this stuff is 25 years older than when I was trying to find it and things was tough then.
Wasn't the c3 for 4 cylinder motors?
