What did you guys use to seal the threads on your pyro probe? If I buy the autometer pyro kit can I put the probe in the manifold or do I have to use that band that it comes with? I would prefer to put pre-turbo in the exahust manifold.
Thanks
Mike
I put mine on the drivers side, right at the bend in the back of the manifold, so that the probe sticks almost straight up towards the what ever tube. I started off with a real small drill bit, then worked my way up slowly to the size I needed . Then used a shop vac, even tried a magnet [but didnt find anything] inside manifold. Then I put a little grease on the tap, and ran it thru. Then while holding the shop vac up to the hole I started the motor and let it idle for a minute. It came out great. Wish I had a digital camera so I could put up a picture. Any way I was really worried about doing it, but if you take your time it's a piece of cake.

You may want to just put some "anti seize" on the threads.. Thread sealer really isn't necessary.. When you order your gauge, you may have to specify "which type" of holding device you would like to use.. Some gauges come with both.. It may also depend on where you purchase.. I bought an Autometer and it came with both clamps/holders.. Then,, I decided I liked the ISSPRO look and lighting better.. If you use a band style on the "pipe", it comes with a sealing gasket/washer.. The ISSPRO is backlit, and an almost perfect match to the factory dash gauges....
