Air Drills

Anyone use an air drill much? If so, what brands do you like/hate? I have an old cheapie, but the thing is so darn noisy I have to wear ear plugs with it. I'd like to get on that is real quiet, if they make them.

I have never heard an air drill that was quiet. And the brand thing pretty much goes with all the other air tools. Ingersol-rand, chicago airtool, and other name brands work pretty well. Something you may or may not have noticed, is that if you really use an air drill for a period of time, it will get so cold you can't hold it in your hand.

I dont use air for drilling much. Very noisey and power hungry. I do most hand drilling with 1/2 Milaukee Magnum hole shooters. VERY reliable.

My obversation with air drills is when the drill gets stuck it stops, with my DeWalt hand drill it brakes my wrist. Use or the air drill depends on what the job is.

If you need hearing protection you might want to invest in ear muffs with a built in radio, these are also good when you want to ignor people.
