4.6l Engine Noise

2002 FORD F150 FX4 4.6L 28,000 MILES
Have any of you noticed when you drive your truck next to a wall a curb with the windows down the engine seems particullary noisy? I dont notice it under regular driving but like I said when I'm next to a curb or wall it almost sounds like the old Dodge slant six. I have taken it to the dealership and the said it sounded alright to them(they didnt drive it though just revved it up a few times). I don't believe it is an exhaust leak or lifters or anything along those lines, the truck has been running fine. Am I just being over - sensitive to it??? The dealer also ran all TSB's for my VIN and could not find anything close to this problem. I havent had the truck that long so I am not sure if this is the way the sound. At idle the engine sound fine.

Well the wall would reflect sounds that otherwise would leave and therefore would not be heard. I think this is probably normal.

I have a 2002 expedition and I know what you mean about the noise, I get it too, the vehicle runs fine, just a bit of a lifter type of noise when up against a wall.
