What are you seeing now? I think 1 quart is OK, but even higher mileage engines like mine (162K) don't consume any noticable amount of oil. I think a lot of it has to do with how well the engine was broken in.
Well about a pint to in 2200 miles. Reason i asked is i took it in for oil in the valley and
the tech said it was oil leaking from the intake tubes into the valley and tightened the clamps. Has anyone ever heard of this? I just plan on cleaning it up and monitoring it.
Oil in the engine valley could be;
1. The turbo pedestal "O" rings leaking.
2. HPOP leaking.
3. Valve cover leaking.
4. The most unlikely, but easiest "fix" from a Ford dealer to pacify you is, the boots leaking.
I would suspect that if you were leaking it from the turbo pedestal, HPOP or valve covers, then 1 pint is enough to make it drip off the inspection cover under your PSD.
The engine valley has a drain hole cast into it which allows fluids to drain from the valley, down the tranny and into and around the insepection cover.
It's possible you may be burning it if you don't have any drips underneath your PSD.
