shut down timer

Has anyone used a SP Diesel shutdwin timer or as they call it EST. or maybe another of ther products? Just looking for some input. was looking at the turbo life saver but it seems a little high priced, and the SP Diesel timer seems like a cost efective one.

gauges

Gauges I have but don't like to sit in the truck for five min for it to cool down. Also looking at using timers on our fleet of F550 rescue trucks that the drivers just shut off after a long run.

Understand, you are in a severe use area, would be good to have then.
Will probably save you money in the long run.

The ford manual states guidelines for idling the truck for cool down purposes after certain types of use.
IE, shorter cool down for light use and up to 15 minutes after towing or hard use.
I bought a Turbo-saver which allows me to hold a button in and it beeps for the minutes you wish for idling.

I would rather buy this device and know it cools down rather than have to sit in the cab and wait for the EGT on the gauges to let me know things are cool.

They are a hanfull of products that do this which i highly reccomend for turbo longevity purposes.
