need help on charging system
i have a 72 f250 4x4 360 4 speed
i cant get a charge from the altenator
i changed it and the voltage regulator and still have nothing
if someone could find a wiring diagram of the charging system i could check that next. thx
also i am having a bad vibration from the steering wheel when turning-any ideas?

Can't help you on the charging, but as far as the vibes, I replaced pitman arm all the tie rod ends and that cured it, also my tires were rubbing due to being to big, I had to put in a lift kit for that. Hope this helps ya. Later, shrike

Not much help here either but check a few things and let us know.
Make sure that all of your cables are in good shape and clean all the connections real good. Make sure the wiring coming from the alternator is in good shape. There might be a fusable link in the harness, make sure it's still good and not burnt in two.
Make sure the plug has'nt fallen out of the regulator. hapened to me. lol

well, ive been workin on it all day
changed the voltage reg. altenator and it worked for a little bit, but as i was drivin i smelled smoke so i pulled over and under my dash caught on fire-good thing i had a fire extinguisher. but now im at square one.
its still not charging

Sounds like you let the smoke out of something.
Guess if I were you I'd find and fix what shorted under the dash as that might be your intire problem. Glad it did'nt burn too bad. Luckey you had a fire putter outer.
I have one mounted in the back.
