OK so instead of just another "listing" thread where...people just list their favorite whatever, lets try and make something out of this thread where we actually interact and have content...any ideas fellas?
Well then, Justin, how about the reasons why a good cruisin tune is what it is? The tune has to have a good rythmn section going (like a lopey idle), no slow ballads allowed, no slow-down's in the middle (rules out Led Zepplin's "Whole Lotta Love", for instance), lyrics have to reference driving a car at some point during the song, and when you hear it on the radio you can't help pushing the accelerator down just a bit harder.
I would submit Deep Purple's "Highway Star" and ZZ Top's "Lowrider" as two fine examples.
I can't drive 55 - nugent
little duece coupe
any thing by Third Day
Switchfoot
I love this bar (even though I don't drink this is a great song)
Big ol truck- toby keith
pink cadillac
Earl - dixie chicks
The good stuff - kenny chesney
What was I thinkin'
I agree with what spikedog says, that's why Radar Love is such a good cruising tune. But I also love the sound of a well played guitar. That's why the blues is the music for me on the road. That lonely, whining guitar masterfully played is like therapy for me!
When I used to bash around in the woods, I'd crank up a copy of Flight of the Valkeries to put me in a beach-stormin mood.
i agree theres nothing like pulling up next to some little wigger bumpin his rap crap and blowing him away with some Flight of the Valkeries having a stereo that could blow his away is very nice too.....silly wigger...(for the bosses i mean wigger as in stupid white kid from the burbs who thinks that they had had a hard life and rebel by wearing baggy clothes and blasting rap music at 3:00am and waking up my 3 year old sorry for any confusion)

STU
Oh yeah, Radar Love is up there in the top ten. From the first line "Been drivin' all night, my hand's wet on the wheel", the right foot involuntarily flexes forward. By the time the song ends, you look down at the speedometer and go "what the.....whoa!"
A lot of times it depends on my mood or if I riding with my wife & daughter.
ie : Bad Co tunes cover the listenin ear well, seagull= slow music
bad co song= when you just cruisin & feel good, lookin bad.
Rollin Stones ie : under my thumb, reminds me of those hard to get girls back in high school, who sooner or later find themselves on the opposite end of the stick.[ no longer being persued ]
Tupac when the day isn't going quite as well & I want to say f it[ if you know what I mean , smile ], i don't like for my 15 month to hear that though.
Does the above kinda of give you a better idea now ?
Peace, I 'll check the site later to hear more crusin likes.
