brake upgrades

I'm replacing my drums with disc, in hopes of improving the brakes. Does anyone have a problem with lack of braking power? I can't get mine to lock up, dam things fade befor the ABS will even kick in. The only time I can get the wheels or brakes to grab for a sec befor the ABS releases them is on dirt or snow. I've replaced everything and still no real grab. Anyone else having the same problem? Oh mines a 96 bronco, just in case that makes a differance.

well i wasnt really thinking about the conversion in the rear. i was thinking about the baer brake systems but i havent seen them for the broncos... there thicker rotors and supposed to keep cooler. there even supposed to shorten your stoopping distance at 90 mph by 80 feet!!! i just cant find them and am imagining there gunna cost a pretty penny

The Bronco Graveyard sells a drilled rotor here. Those claim to dissapate heat faster, but can get clogged with mud if you plan on doing a lot of off-roading.
I also found a write up on installing those very same rotors here.
I personally have never replaced my own rotors so I can't offer you any first hand advice on the subject. Hope some of this helps.
