The only difference I can find between the base 6050# GVWR and the 6300# GVWR Bronco is the addition of dual front shocks and rear stabilizer bar. How does that account for 250# more capacity?
When looking at the difference between the 6300# GVWR and the 6450# GVWR Bronco I see that the 6450 has higher capacity front springs, single HD front shocks instead of dual shocks, and the same rear stablizer bar.
The spring codes for the 6050 and 6300 is the same.
Are there other differences? If I put the 3800# front springs from a 6450# GVWR Bronco along with the shocks and rear stabilizer bar, would my 6050# GVWR truck then be 6450# GVWR, effectively, not legally?
Sometimes the difference is only tire size, or even legal restrictions for smog or registration fees in certain states, without a single physical difference.
In this case it may be XL-rated tires, that might have come in a package with the dual front shocks and rear stabilizer bar, vs standard load 235/75-15 tires. My F-150 4x4 (6250 GVWR) had XL tires, along with the extra front shocks and rear stabilizer bar. Mine also has the towing package, which may include some of those items.
