Exclamation dealer installed a/c help!!

hi all, i am currently rebuilding my 78 f250. the rout im taking is that of a resto-mod. i am putting in every option that i want. and i want a/c. i allready have an original truck with no a/c so dont call me a wuss.. :P LOL

anyway i was going to go the rout of getting a complete factory a/c system, i have collected many of the parts, but i just dont think i will be able to put it all together and make it work. i dont want to mess with a vaccum powered system anyway. plus i dont want to cut a big hole in my firewall. so i did a search on the forum and found that a dealer installed a/c system only requires 2 small holes for the hoses, uses only 3 wires and it is completely hidden. so its right up my alley!!! does anyone know where to find a dealer installed a/c system? i cannot find it anywhere. i need the in the cab part primarily. that is most important. the actual a/c part, compressor, pulleys and all that i do need, but its not important. if anyone has one of these systems and is willing to part with it please email me.

i have the dash for factory air, and the only thing i was wondering, is there a way to hide the a/c controls so i dont have to cut the dash? or maybe mount them in a different way? im not to keen on the idea of cutting a factory a/c dash. sorry for such a long post. thanks in advance.

Why not just pick up a non-air dash ?

The underdash A/C is intrusive to people with long legs sitting on the passenger side.

I have the control panel in my truck...I havn't taken it out to see how complete it is. I don't have any of the the other parts. Well except for a trashed condensor...looks like it was used for a brush guard! lol. I can take pic's of it tonight and email them to you if you want.

Jamie,
thats the system im looking for. do you know if you have the entire under dash unit? or just the controls? email me the pics if you can. btw do you have the other vents?

Mil1ion,
is the a/c system you are refering to the one in your gallerey? because if im not mistaken the dealer installed a/c is hidden behind the glovebox/dashboard. but i could be mistaken. thanks for the help guys!

Yes, Pic number 6 in brochure photos.

It is actually a combination of both behind the glove box & below the dash.
I forget the measurements ,but it does take up some leg room.

thanks jamie. i really apprechiate it.

mil1ion,
is that picture of an older unit? the reason i ask, is when i was at school i saw a 77 f250 2wd, with dealer a/c and i didnt see anything sticking out from under the dash. is it possible that the newer trucks had a different system? allthough maybee its just tucked up further so i cant see it.
