Question Tranny Question

I heard a rumor the other day that a 4 speed O.D. tranny from a Granada will bolt to my 52 F1 Flatty, anyone have experience with this one.

Haven't heard that one. I know there are adapters you can get to bolt a C4 to a flathead, so if an AOD is the same pattern (think it might be but not totally sure), then you might be able to use the adapter to bolt one on...

It's not gonna happen. The C4 3-speed has a removable bellhousing which allows for the adapter kit. The AOD found in the Grenada, etc. has an integral bellhousing. Doesn't lend itself well to being attached to anything but a small block Ford.

You don't mean a 4 speed manual transmission, where 4th is actually overdrive?

Sorry guys I should have explained it a little better, Angus hit the nail on the head. It is actually a three speed manual with a fourth as overdrive, I wasn't thinking AOD.
