i am interested in a turbo temp and boost guage for my 2001 PSD. i think i have seen some that mount on the left side of the dash on the window post. does anyone know where to buy these gauges?
Most diesel shops will have them in stock or can get them pretty quick. I got mine directly from Banks, I wanted the Banks logo on them to give it that "I spent big buck look".
is the pyrometer, exhaust gas temp, and the turbo temp the same? i am mainly concerned about shutting the engine off while the turbo charger is still hot. is the pyrometer gauge the reference for this. i have read that you should not shut off the engine if the turbo temp is above 300F.

Yes they are all the same, the correct term is Pyrometer. And yes you should let a system cool down after it has been on the road, ISSPRO makes a system that will keep the truck running for you after you pulled the key, until the pryo reads a safe level. They have a website - [link:www.isspro.com/SpecialtyProductsAcc.html|ISSPRO]
Looks like a pretty good system, I will be ordering one here soon. I have just been watching the temps myself, but would be much nicer. Here is an detailed install of a ISSPRO system. [link:home.attbi.com/~dieselford/turbo4.html|A Man and his truck] the install for the ISSPRO is listed at the bottom of the page. Very detailed information.
