2001 Broken Transmission

Has anybody had a similar problem or know of any TSB that may be of use? From where I sit, my father has been ripped off. A tranny that blows at 50K? This does not impress me.
I believe this is probably a very rare happening. I have never heard of that before. Probably one in a million.
Did you dad ever have the transmission flushed? Chances are a system flush would have either shown the problem or corrected it before damage occured. I do mine every 25,000 miles. Cheap insurance really. It takes me about two hours and $30 for 12 quarts of fluid and a filter. Mine has 134k miles and still works fine.

My father's last Ranger went 230K miles on the original engine/tranny, which is why he wanted another one. I don't think we know the answer about tranny flushes since he bought the truck used from a dealer. My father is an unlucky guy. If you want to know which stock to pick, find out what he's buying and sell short.
It still seems ridiculous to me that this could happen. I also think a 36000 mile warranty on modern vehicles is silly. To me, if you have done basic maintenance and a vehicle has serious problems before 100K, something was wrong from the factory. If Ford wants me or my family as repeat customers, they would do something about it. There are other trucks to buy.
