My '92 Bronco is getting close to needing an oil change, and I was wondering if any of you have used Resolute oil in your vehicals? Is it any good? How is it compared to something like pennzoil or quaker state? I am asking because I saw it in an ad for a pretty good price. Thanks in advance for any help.
I see it at Fleet Farm. It is real cheap. I am pretty sure it is made by Citgo/Mystik which is good. It is kind of temping at that price. I too am curious if it is the same formulation as Citgo.
I couldn't find anywhere on the citgo site where they have anything to do with it. In fact, I couldn't find any information on it, anywhere on the internet. I dont know if it's part of Resolute Energy Inc. or not.
As for the oil, I cant really say. Look at the API ratings. They tell the story.
It is rated SL. I am pretty sure the back of the bottle says "made by Citgo petro corp"
I am also curious about the Farm Rated Brand that is the heavy duty(Diesel rated) brand sold at fleet farm. It also says made by Citgo on the back. I would like to know if it is Mystik, but no one can tell me. I used the CF rated 30 wt for the Kubota tractor and may like to use it or resolute for my cars and truck if I can find out exactly what it is.
Well, I went out to Fleet and picked up the resolute. You guys are right, on the back it says made by citgo, packed for commercial use, so it pretty much it is citgo oil only in a different container.
The diesel oil is also citgo (Mystik) and they have 10w30!!! I also notice it being SL Rated too. I ran it in my truck for break in, Now I am using pennzoil because I like the additive package and group II+ base stocks.
