auto steering column for standard?

I found a steering column that seems right for my truck, except that the column is for a automatic, and my truck is standard (5 speed on the floor).

Does anyone know if it will work? My guess is that all I have to do is remove a linkage and the lever . . .

I would think it should. I have an automatic column in my stick shift Bronco and no problems.

I just did this the other day on my 92 f350. I took out a auto column from a 92 f250 and laid it on the shop floor, then I removed the column from my 92 f350 manual and laid it on the shop floor next to it and you can see exactly what needs to be removed or replaced. Besides removing the obvious, like the auto shifter, there is some small parts that need to be removed/replaced from the other column having to do with rotating your key switch back to get the key out. If you had both columns out you would see what I was talking about. The base steering column is the same, it will work.
