Help Please

i posted this in another area to no avail so may be some one here knows. i was reading an artical on valve covers with oil ports for the valve springs. my question is do these realy work? what are the benifits to running these valve covers? i guess all you have to do is plumb up a pressured oil line and it hoses each valve spring with oil.

I guess my question would be, why do the valve springs need oil? The only advantage I could possibly think of would be the rockers, and they get plenty anyway.

I think it would just cause more oil to get past the valve stem seals, causing more oil burning.

I think you need to explain what you want a bit more? What engine do you have?

well what the artical claimed was that the oil helped cool the valve springs which in turn keept the (i can't think of the proper terminology) valve spring pressure even at all rpms. the other benifit was longer spring life in high lift motors. the reason i ask is the motor i'm putting in my capri is a heavily built 347. D&D motorsports is putting together the bottom end for me and estimates around 550 hp before the nos. i'm only going to run a 100 horse shot of nos for the strip.
