how much can i handle?
I have a guy that is wanna use my Explorer to pull his boat down to DC.....im was wondering how much can my 94 explorer take?
i dont want to kill the damn thing since im trying to sell it

Tow rating depends largely on engine size, transmission, and rear axle. With an Explorer you're probably safe up to 3500 lbs. Anything over that, find out what the tow rating is and go by that. Also, most states require trailers over 1500 lbs to have brakes. Check to see that your buddy's trailer has a surge brake (alot of boat trailers have them). I would not lend out my truck for someone else to tow with it, except to my dad, but I have towed trailers for other people.
