1970 F250 brake problem

I just did a front brake job on my 1970 F250 which included shoes, new wheel cylinders, and turning the drums. After reassembling, adjusting and road testing I find that when I back up and apply the brakes I'm getting a rubbing sound. The brakes are self-adjusting and I'm wondering if perhaps I did not do the initial adjustment correctly. The brakes do not pull to one side or the other while normal braking so I know they are adjusted as far as balance between the two front wheels. Could I have not backed them off enough during the initial adjustment?? Any help would be appreciated

I'd pull the drums off and look for a broken spring or something else loose in there.

1970 Ford post brake installation problem

I jacked the truck up and spun both front wheels. The right front wheel is rubbing on the new shoes where the left spins without rubbing. Should I readjust the right wheel before pulling everything apart?? I know the initial adjustment procedure called for adjusting the brakes for wheel lock and then backing off so the wheels had no drag. The number of back off turns were supposed to be aproximately equal on both wheels. Maybe I didn't back off on the right wheel enough and the self adjuster on that side is causing the problem when I'm in reverse?? comments? Thanks, George
