Truth About Loss of Torque

Truth About Loss of Torque
I am thinking of a cat back system on my F-250 with a V10. I really like the look of a dual exit muffler. I have heard that it is better to leave the single 3" inlet and single 3" because the engine will lose torque with the loss of back pressure. I was looking at Flowmaster 3" inlet dual 2.5" outlet and the Magnaflow 3" inlet dual 3" outlet. Magnaflow also has a 3" inlet and dual 2.5" outlet. Does anybody have any thoughts on this? Any experiences with this issue? Any information would be great.

I put a cat back system on my '02 F-250 5.4L. I don't think it did much at all. In hindsight, probably just swapping out the stock muffler for a higher flow muffler would have done the same for 1/3 the cost.
Also, a lot of dual exhausts (that go behind the rear axle) don't fit due to the spare tire. You can dump the duals out the passenger side in front of the rear tire, but it's gonna be loud.
Hope this helps. I don't mean to spoil your enthusiasm for the cat back system, but save your money and just replace the muffler.
Best,
Daryl
