Hi , I'm new to these boards. 2 days ago I came across a near mint (need seats re-done) c-6 cab-over with the flathead v8 and 4spd with 2speed rear axle. Well the guy wants pretty much nothing for it. And he said it runs fine (he didnt show me though ..yet) it has a primered body and gloss black frame, no ruse anywhere , no glass broke, good tires and exhaust. I'm wondering if anyone has any info on these I cant find anything, after searching the net for hrs I was only able to find one pic. I'm curious on value, production numbers,tonage.....etc...
I was thinking of finishing it up ,putting a hydroallic slide bed (flat bed) and putting antique tags on it and using it around the farm and shows.
The shop manual has all the specs on it - available thru motorhaven and most other old truck parts catalogs such as Sacramento Vintage Ford. The Operator's manual also has some valuable info. I have both and reference both often.
The C6 is rated a 2 ton. Would have had the 239 flathead V8 engine. If you need any particulars until you get your manuals, let us know.
The one in the links is a 52 Deluxe cab.
I'd like to have one. Value: They don't run as expensive as the pickups, but are catching up the last few years. If you think it's a bargain, it IS. Just don't plan to put a lot of money in it and hope to make a killing by selling it.
well its all there in very very good shape, has no passenger seat, the driver seat has springs showing, floor looks good, no rust anywhere with a full primered body, its missing a few chrome piece's and the headlights i think
he wants 900 for it, im thinking he would take 500 because we got a tractor (massey harris 101 senior) he wanted 1200 for it and my dad talked him into 275 lol, so this guy likes to bargain, i want it to play around with and clean up alittle and get a rollback bed on it.
is this worth it? i cant really find anything on this at all, im having a hard time..
thanks

Jarred,
The COE trucks are definitely getting more valuable, so if you can get this one for less than the $900, and it proves out to be a decent runner, it would be well worth even the $900. I have a 51 that I paid $500 for, and it was not in the condition the one you are looking at evidently is. Chrome parts can be hard to find, but the grille, the back of the cab, the glass, dash, and cab roof are interchangeable with the conventional. The fenders, running boards, doors, and hood are the unique COE parts, along with the floor boards, and seats. One idea to consider is that the G30 1 ton school bus chassis from C.....t just happens to have the right suspension width if you are considering updating the ride and height.
