91 Explorer Vibration

91 Explorer Vibration

My Explorer starts to vibrate/hum when it reaches a speed of 110 km/h (70 mph). I have had the tires rebalanced, no change. I have had the ujoints changed in the drive shaft, no change. Suggestions ???

Check for bent wheels, bent shaft. Try moving the shaft 1/2 turn on the diff, if you can. Drive belts and pulleys? Does it vibrate if you run the motor up in Park or neutral? Tires coming apart and you can't quite see it yet? Front end alignment? Front end connections all good? Radius arm bushings good? Motor or trans mount?

Did you rotate the tires front to back?

Tires have 25000 km on them, rims are straight, tires where rotated when balanced.

DId the vibration start before or after the tires were rotated?

Tires & Rims are not causing my vibration..... both are running true. Vibration there before and after tire rotation.

I have a similar problem, it starts right around 65 mph. I'm on my 2nd set of tires, everything checks out ok, but it still does it and has for quite a few years.
