yeah, I'm gonna do this too. I'll take some pictures while I'm at it. I already promised some pics of my new tires (on another thread), so i better warm up the digital camera. Not that i need another excuse to take pics of my truck

In cities that have vehicle inspections, the missing lines may be a flag for some inspector so you may want to just get a piece of hose and loop it from the upper to the lower just so it looks like it is doing something.

Good luck,

yeah, but if the inspector is sharp enough to notice those lines, he'll (hopefully) be sharp enough to know that it doesn't affect his inspection. There's nothing illegal about this mod. Now, the EGR mod listed on this board... that's a different story

it's nothing more than a channel for water to pass through... so plugging up the ends isn't 100% necessary once the water has drained. If you park outside or anywhere near fields or a lake... I'd plug em up cause bugs like to live in unplugged fittings.

It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to plug them, keep junk out, give it a finished look.

see this thread:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...disc+AND+punch

it's the original (much longer) thread about the TB coolant line mod, and i think on the 2nd page they start talking about the EGR mod.

ok i went out side and i got the top hose off really easy but the bottom one (about 6 inches directly below it) wont come off. did anyone else have this problem, and how did you remidy it? does it just need alittle "persuasion" or is it just easyer to cut it?

Just take a knife and slit the end, it will pull right off. If you put them back on in the winter you'll want new hose anyway.

Well, after pulling the lines this weekend, and driving it around, it seems to have a little more power. Both the top and bottom lines on my tb were stuck, I just used a screw driver and carefully pried them off.

the bottom one was a good bit harder to get off than the top one but i just keep on wiggling it and it came off. I think it did make some difference doing the mod.

What size is the id of that hose? I'm thinking of putting shut off valves in.
