Wink Exhaust

I have a 1997 F250 4x4 crew cab that has a converter looking thing in the exhaust system. Want to get rid of it. What is the best way without causing a leak?

Cut and splice. The piece you'd potentially be putting in is referred to as a "Cat Delete Pipe." Ford even sells one by that name, though you can get one from a muffler shop cheaper.

Just an idea- how about a whole new system, 3.5"dp to 4" 409ss with a flow thru muffler. You can find the whole system for around $500.00.

I went to an autoparts store and picked up a downpipe, intermediate pipe and hanger for 149. The intermediate is the one right after the down pipe to remove the cat. It was in 4" though so you will have to reduce it back down if you want to keep the rest of the exhaust system. That was for a 99-02 model in walker but they did have it in a 97 and older model.
