I had the Anti-lock checked and it needs a new speed sensor I was wondering if anybody has any expirence in replacing them? I'm not to familar on how they work because I this my first ford that I have owned so it would much appreciated if anybody could help me out on this

And which one is it? There are two in the front hubs. Depending on your miles you are close to needing new hub bearings, the sensors come with them. There is a sensor on the top of the rear differential. If the fluid is nasty, this may be covered with metal filings that cause problems. Suggest you invest $12 in a Haynes manual before you buy a lot of random parts.

Its the one on the Driver side front according to the computer that we hooked it up too. So your saying that the Speed sensor comes with a new hub bearing or the other way around? I have 84k miles and do you have any idea where I could pick up these parts fairly cheaply?

You can buy a new Timken hub for as little as $140 and it comes with a new sensor. The sensor alone should cost about $40. These can be the devil to pull out because they get rusted in. Suggest you try pulling it out first, in case it snaps off and you have to buy the complete hub.

What would you say would be a fair charge of a local garage fixing this?
