Normal Operating Temp.

I am currently trying to get my 86 F250 W/ 6.9 in condition to go on a trip in june. what is the normal operating temp for this engine. it is currently running at about 190-195 (at the temp sensor) I am not sure if this normal or not also my gauge is almost all the way up. thanks for the help

Mines an 89 F350, normal temp (depending on the stat) is 180-200. Mine runs around 200-210 when pulling a 9000 lb trailer. As far as the stock gauges, mine reads cold all the time, put an aftermarket VDO in, and reads right at 190. Sounds like yours is either faulty or shorted out ( if it's reading all the way to the right).

It does'nt read all the way to the right but on the real high side of normal.

I tested the gauge and the range is fine (disconnected from sensor cold shorted to block all the way up)
