RE: My friend has a 73 bronco with a rebult 302 and were having a problem with what I think is a vapor lock when it get hot. The truck runs great at night or when its somewhat cold outside but when it gets hot its runs rough and stumbles. I noticed when it does that the fram clear fuel filter is empy if you let it idle for awhile it will resupply the filter and then idle quality returns. Were trying to go to a bronco rally next week here in ocala so I would appriciate any Ideas you guys got on this one
How did this ever shake out. My 75 302 (stock 2brl. carb) is doing the same thing. I'm not sure mine is as consistent as cool/hot temps but maybe. Like you I observed much less fuel in the fram fuel filter when it is in one of it's moods. I did not do the suggestions of the guy who replied. Hoping you and you bud did and maybe that did or did not cure the problem. I was'nt really buying it since I was not seeing the prob. as temp. related. But like I said maybe I just had not cued in that it was temp. related. I was actually veering more fuel pump?
