I have heard alot of people say that you should not use deisels for plowing because they are heavier. Is this true? do any of you guys use one for plowing? if so do you have any problems?
Phil
The Diesel is much better for plowing. Like above get the plow prep. You don't use as much fuel as a gas engine. They go twice as long before needing refueling.
Yes there is more wieght but most people take them off when not plowing for more than a week. And whats another few hundred pounds.
The Diesel in my opinion is far better for plowing.
Then I prefer the auto for plowing, cause you do a lot of foward/backing. I think it would be too much abuse on the manuals.
I have a 97 F-250 AUTO. i have been plowing with it for 2 years and so far so good, the one thing i love about this truck is the torque i can move lots of snow with very little throttle. i put about 800pounds in the rear and go. i have numerous accounts to plow plus all the ones that snag me in between and i can run all day on a tank. best truck i ever owned.
