If you have badly oxidized plastic headlight covers, you can clean them up quite easily with that Meguiar's product called "Clear Plastic Cleaner & Polish" available at AutoZone in a small packet for about $1. The original thread on this may have passed you by, but it really works and restores those headlight covers so that they look like new. My thanks to the originator.
I found this out by accedent.I have a 96 X and the light had got that foggie look.All we had at the shop was a bottle of Simpal Green cleaner.I sprayed some on each lighe and let is soke a whilethen put some on a cleane rag.WOW you would not belive the dirt that came off them and how much better they looked,Make sure tha you rines the front of your veh real good with plenty of freash WATER!! then I took some car ploish on them now they look like new.This worked for me and saved me about $250.00 for new lights!!
Thanks to your post, i was able to clear up my yellow, foggy headlights on my 91 ranger. Went to autozone and bought the meguiar's product for a buck, spent about 2 minutes on each headlight cover and then i had get the wife to show her how clear the headlights were.
A very cheap and effective cure!!!
