I just installed my, FREE replacement mirrors from Muth. Piece of cake to put in, only took about 15 min. You won't find many company's that will go the extra mile like Muth has.
I just got mine in for my 99 but it's at the dealer getting the leaking heads repaired. I am planning on swapping them out when I get it back. After reading the instructions it sounded a lot more complicated than 15 min. Did you have to remove the whole mirrors like the instructions said or did you get them changed in still on the truck?
You don't have to remove the mirror. Just fold it forward for better access to the inboard side of the mirror. Then just follow the instructions starting on page 5.

Thanks for the info. I could not figure out why you had to remove the mirror to just to change the glass. I will get it changed as soon as I get the truck back.
What is Muth? and why did you get a free replacement? I can see through my mirrors to the ripples in the glue that holds the glass on. How much are replacement mirrors?
They are the company that makes most of the signal mirrors..I called them about the mirrors on my 99 and even though it was out of Ford's warranty they still warrantied thier mirrors. There must have been a problem with some of these peeling inside so they are offering to replace them. You will have to buy the replacements and they will refund when you send your old one's back. I just asked about replacements and they told me about the warranty. http://www.muthco.com/
